1. Confirm the target operator and the frequency band to be used.
PTCRB certification is a North American network access test certification, which is related to specific operators. You need to know which operator you want to choose and which operator you want to take into account in advance, and then comprehensively consider and filter out the frequency bands you want to support.

For example, the target operator is AT&T, while the Verzion,B66 band can be added. Both operators support this band, but the B42 band is wasted and useless.

If it is cut off due to battery life (some products with poor heat dissipation will also seriously affect the working time of the battery), the whole test will be interrupted and the previous test data are invalid and need to be retested.
5. Confirm which features of the product are needed and which are not.
If some products have the function of MIMO, you need to inform PTCRB before evaluation. Once you do not need waiver, you need to inform PTCRB and have good reason to tell why waiver is dropped. The reason needs to be able to convince PTCRB fully, and it may bring trouble to actual sales in the future.
6. The product model had better be decided before certification.
PTCRB certification has relatively strict requirements on the model, and the model can not be changed at will. Once the fixed model is submitted to Request, it will produce a fixed Request # number, and the model cannot be changed. If you want to change, you need to resubmit the Request, which will involve the modification of the pics table and changes that may require testing. The Request number is not the same as the test report and cannot be certified.
7. After the hardware and appearance are confirmed, the software firmware version also needs to be confirmed.
Many people think that the software and hardware version is not important, in fact, PTCRB certification has something to do with the software firmware version, the firmware information in the software version number will be verified during the testing process, especially in the use of certified module products, this is a very critical information, rebrushing different firmware during the testing process may lead to the content of the previous test needs to be retested.
The software version number involves firmware. When many modules are certified, the frequency band and pics in the firmware brushed meet the requirements of major operators. The firmware brushed needs to meet the required version of the target operator, otherwise it is impossible to obtain the license of the operator.
