Using GCF-certified chipsets to integrate into devices and modules can reduce test costs, test items, and test time. This is a shortcut that many customers choose to speed up the time to market.
Manufacturers of IoT devices or modules that use certified chipsets should perform a set of confidence tests defined in the database. It is not necessary to carry out the tests of the whole project according to the test specifications, but only select some of the test items. please distinguish between chipsets, modules, and IoT devices.
The volume and peripherals of the chipset are the smallest and simplest, followed by the module, and the most and the largest is the device. From the point of view of use, the chipset can be applied to modules and devices, and the modules need to add peripherals such as power supply, antenna filtering, etc. to be used, and the device can be used directly as a finished product.
Depending on the intended application and supported frequency bands of the device or module using the GCF certified chipset, applicable RF confidence tests must be performed on at least one or at most three supported frequency bands (Mid, High, Low).
Test conditions for test cases should be determined by the manufacturer or a third-party ACE, and test cases may be run under nominal conditions, not at extreme voltages or temperatures.
The test content has three parts, which are radio frequency, wireless resource management, and protocol test.
1. RF test case
Most of them need to test all frequency bands, and a few can choose a single frequency band to test.
